The Historian and the Chef is a blog dedicated to bringing together food and its stories. It’s all about food that makes sense, pleases the senses, and has a sense of place in our lives. Our mission is to bring recipes alive, to help you imagine them in your life then recreate them in your special place. That might translate into afternoon tea in a cosy sitting room, fine dining for a group of favoured friends, a romantic supper on a balcony with a view, or perhaps a lesson in how food makes it to the table for your children. Either way, we want it to be an experience that creates fond memories, gives you the confidence to experiment more in the kitchen, and leaves you with an appreciation of the meaningful role food has in our lives.
